A24: nighttime closures Gran Sasso Tunnel

The concessionaire Strada dei Parchi Spa announces that, due to maintenance needs,the Assergi – Colledara/San Gabriele (Gran Sasso Tunnel) freeway section will beclosed to traffic, barring unforeseen circumstances, withthe following schedule and modalities for the two directions:

  • from 10:00 p.m. on September 16 and 17 to 6:00 a.m. on the following days limited to the westbound carriageway in the direction of AQ/A25/RM. On the aforementioned days and times, vehicles coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14 heading towards L’Aquila/Rome will have to exit the A24 via the Colledara/San Gabriele interchange. For long distances and for heavy vehicles heading to L’Aquila/Rome coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14, it is advisable to use the alternative route consisting of the southbound carriageway of the A14 freeway to be driven in the direction of Bari until joining the westbound carriageway of the A25 and driving along it in the direction of Torano/Roma; alternatively, it is advisable to exit the A25 freeway via the Bussi/Popoli junction, drive along the SS 153 and the SS 17 (Piana di Navelli) until reaching the A24 freeway, enter it via the L’Aquila Est junction and drive along it in the direction of L’Aquila Ovest/Roma; a further alternative route is as follows: exit the A24 freeway via the unmanned Basciano junction, drive along the SS 150 and SS 80 to the Capannelle Pass and enter the A24 freeway at the L’Aquila Ovest junction;
  • from 10 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 20 to 6 a.m. on the following days limited to the eastbound carriageway with TE direction. On the days and times indicated above, vehicles coming from AQ/A25/RM, and heading towards Teramo, will have to exit the A24 at the Assergi Junction. For long distances and for heavy vehicles heading to Teramo/Giulianova, it is recommended to use the alternative route consisting of the A25 Torano – Pescara freeway, continuing the journey on the A14 in the direction of Ancona until the Giulianova/Teramo junction and, via the SS80 freeway, reach Teramo; alternatively, it is recommended to exit the A24 freeway via the L’Aquila Est Svincolo, travel along the SS17 and SS153 (Piana di Navelli) until reaching the A25 freeway, enter it via the Bussi Svincolo and travel along it in the direction of the A14 until the Giulianova junction and then reach Teramo, via the SS80 freeway; further alternative route is as follows: exit the A24 freeway at the L’Aquila Ovest junction, travel along the SS80 to the Capannelle Pass, continue along the SS150 and join the A24 freeway via the unmanned Basciano interchange.
