A24: nighttime closures Gran Sasso Tunnel towards L’Aquila/Rome

In order to allow the Gran Sasso National Laboratories to complete maintenance of a ventilation duct and for the simultaneous execution of inspections of the Gran Sasso tunnel caps scheduled by Strada dei Parchi, from 10 p.m. on Dec. 16, 17 and 18 to 6 a.m. on the following days, the Colledara/San Gabriele – Assergi highway section will be closed to traffic, barring unforeseen circumstances, limited to the westbound carriageway in the AQ/RM direction.

On the days and times indicated above, vehicles coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14 and heading towards L’Aquila/Rome will have to exit the A24 via the Colledara/San Gabriele junction; please note that the continuation of the route via the SS80 is affected by the presence of several construction sites with possible inconvenience. It is therefore recommended to use the alternative route consisting of the southbound carriageway of the A14 freeway to be taken in the direction of Bari until joining the A25 freeway in the direction of Rome; for journeys directed to L’Aquila, it is recommended to exit the A25 freeway via the Bussi/Popoli junction and take the SS153 (Piana di Navelli) in the direction of L’Aquila.
