A24, Tivoli – Vicovaro/Mandela section: traffic measures

Due to urgent maintenance work, the following measures will be taken on the A24 freeway section between Tivoli and Vicovaro/Mandela, barring unforeseen circumstances:

  • from 10 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 7 until 5 a.m. on the following days, the closure of the eastbound carriageway (A25/L’Aquila/Teramo direction) of the A24 freeway between the Tivoli junction and the Castel Madama junction will be ordered;
  • from 10 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 7 until 5 a.m. on the following days, on the eastbound carriageway (direction A25/L’Aquila/Teramo) of the A24 freeway will be ordered a ban on heavy goods vehicles with a full load mass exceeding 3.5 tons heading towards the A25/L’Aquila/Teramo between the A24/A1 interconnection junction and Tivoli;
  • from 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 to 5 a.m. the following day, the closure of the westbound carriageway (Rome direction) of the A24 freeway between the Vicovaro/Mandela junction and the Castel Madama junction will be ordered.

Consequently, from 10 p.m. on Oct. 6, 7 and 8 to 5 a.m. on the following days:

  • heavy vehicles with a mass of more than 3.5 tons heading towards the A25/L’Aquila/Teramo will be required to exit at the interconnection junction between the A24 and the A1 to continue on the southbound carriageway (Naples direction) of the A1 freeway, exit at the Ferentino junction and continue on the SS214 and the SS690 Sora-Avezzano;
  • for the remaining vehicles, a compulsory exit will be arranged at the Tivoli Junction, which will be able to continue on the SS5 Tiburtina/Valeria and use the Castel Madama Junction to rejoin the A24 freeway; similarly, for vehicles coming from the ordinary Tivoli road system and heading towards the A25/L’Aquila/Teramo, it will be possible to use the Castel Madama Junction via the SS5 Tiburtina/Valeria.
  • In addition, from 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 to 5 a.m. the following day, vehicles heading toward Rome will be required to exit at the Vicovaro/Mandela junction with return to the Castel Madama junction, and will be able to continue on the SS5 Tiburtina/Valeria.
