Amami Teatro: in Chieti, the cultural heart of Abruzzo beats 24/7

The Marrucino Theater in Chieti, opened in 1818, has been the beating heart of Abruzzo’s cultural life for more than two centuries. With its neoclassical architecture and a tradition that has hosted great performers of the Italian stage, the Marrucino is much more than a theater: it is a symbol of collective identity and memory, a place that tells the story of a community through art.

From Dec. 15 to 21, this treasure chest of culture opens its doors for the non-stop “Amami Teatro – On and Off Stage, Day and Night” festival : 144 consecutive hours of performances, concerts, dance, cinema, university lectures, guided tours and tastings, all with free admission. The event, whose motto is “Let it Happen,” includes the participation of hundreds of artists from all over Italy with orchestras, theater companies, performers, DJs, dancers, musicians, and painters, animated by the common goal of enhancing and promoting the knowledge of Theater and its values. Performances will alternate in a whirlwind of emotions ranging from classical to contemporary, from prose to dialect theater, from electronic to chamber music, from improvisation to yoga, and even moments of pure fun such as silent disco. Among the most anticipated novelties is the participation of painters and musicians Paul and Mark Kostabi, who will offer the audience an impromptu painting performance, transforming the artistic gesture into a unique and shared moment. A true cultural marathon that transforms the theater into a living and inclusive space, ready to welcome anyone who wants to be surprised.

The opening night will be graced by the presence of Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli, testifying to the value of this initiative that not only celebrates the history of the Marrucino, but also projects Abruzzo into a national dimension of cultural innovation.

Toto Group’s support: innovators by tradition

Alongside the Deputazione Teatrale del Marrucino, the Municipality of Chieti, the Chieti Delegation of the FAI and the CNA is the Toto Group , which, through Toto Costruzioni Generali, wholeheartedly supports this review. The Group’s motto “Innovators by Tradition” perfectly encapsulates the meaning of this commitment: a company that, rooted for more than 60 years in Abruzzo, looks to the future by investing not only in strategic infrastructure such as the A24 and A25 highways, but also in culture and the territory.

Promoting events like “Amami Teatro” means believing that development is not only made of material works, but also of intangible values: creativity, beauty, sharing. It is a way to strengthen the bond with Abruzzo and contribute to the social and economic growth of the community.

“Love Me Theater” is an invitation to experience culture without borders, in a place that has guarded the region’s artistic heritage for more than 200 years.
