It was 1973, 52 years have passed since the first time, but the International Flaiano Awards still retain the spirit of founder Edoardo Tiboni and the stubbornness in honoring Ennio Flaiano through the study of his work.
The production of literary, theatrical, film, television and journalistic “facts” is, today as then, the common thread of this great cultural event that culminates in the summer days of the awards ceremony. And again this year Toto Holding is the main sponsor of the Flaiano International Awards, reaffirming the family’s and the Group’s unwavering commitment to continue caring for the Abruzzo region.
The days of the Awards began last March with the XXVI International Short Film Festival “Writing and Image,” which saw the participation of more than 1,200 works from all over the world and then continued in April with the presentation of Giovanna Mezzogiorno ‘s book “Ti racconto il Cinema” for Mondadori to middle and high school children in Pescara. On June 16, on the other hand, it was the turn of Sigfrido Ranucci who in Pescara presented his book “La Scelta” published by Bompiani to then get to the continuation of the appointments:
– June 21, 2025, Aurum, Pescara, 8:30 p.m., Flaiano International Poetry Prize;
– June 28, 2025, 8:30 p.m., 52nd Flaiano International Prize for Fiction over 35 and under 35 category;
– June 28, 2025, 8:30 p.m., Flaiano International Prize for Italianistics “Luca Attanasio,” a prize supported, enhanced and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for more than twenty-six years for the enhancement and study of Italian language and culture in the world. For the past four years, the prize has been named in memory of Ambassador Luca Attanasio who was killed in Congo.
– From June 29 to July 4, 2025, the 52nd edition of the Flaiano Film Festival, whose artistic director has already been director Riccardo Milani for years, will be held. The three screenings will be held in Piazzale Michelucci at the Aurum in Pescara with free admission.
– July 6, 2025, 8:30 p.m., 52nd Flaiano International Film, Theater, Television and Journalism Awards in the heart of Pescara at Piazza della Rinascita with the presence of national and international guests being honored in the different sections.
