From Castel Di Sangro to Tagliacozzo for the Giro d’Italia and from Celano to Tagliacozzo on the 50 magnificent kilometers of the Abruzzo leg of the Giro-E Enel: on Friday, May 16, the two-wheeled caravan will cross this splendid territory of inland Abruzzo for a significant passage set in the magnificent historical and naturalistic scenery of Marsica.
Alongside the world-famous Giro in rosa now in its 108th edition, Giro-E has 18 stages totaling more than 1,000 kilometers that from May 13 to June 1 will unravel from Ostuni to Rome, all in parallel in the days and on the roads of the Giro d’Italia exclusively with pedal-assisted racing bicycles and riding e-bikes. Thus, since cycling has always been a beloved sport, thanks to Giro-E it becomes a promoter in raising awareness of sustainable mobility and environmental sustainability issues.
That’s why after last year’s great experience, Toto Holding ‘s logo stands out again in this edition on the official jersey of Team Regione Abruzzo, which participates with its own team captained by Teatino doc Maurizio Formichetti. But the Toto Group’s commitment does not end with the sponsorship of the race uniforms because the team includes another Abruzzo athlete, Francesco Sorgiacomo, who is the site manager of Renexia, the Group’s renewable energy company.
And come to think of it, in the Abruzzo leg of the Giro-E, cyclists pass through the territories of the municipalities of Celano, Magliano de’ Marsi and Tagliacozzo, three centers that insist on Strada dei Parchi by hosting three toll booths on theA25 Highway, the most convenient and safe way to bring fans to the heart of the pink race and E cycling.
