Gran Sasso tunnel: closures for activities preliminary to investigation Extraordinary commissioner

The concessionaire Strada dei Parchi announces that, due to needs related to the work of the Extraordinary Commissioner for the Safety of the Gran Sasso Water System, closures will be arranged on the A24 freeway with the following schedule and procedures:

  • Saturday, October 12, from 08:00 to 20:00, the Colledara/San Gabriele – Assergi section will be closed for the westbound carriageway only, in the direction of AQ/A25/RM. During the hours indicated, vehicles coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14 and heading towards L’Aquila/Rome will have to exit the A24 via the Colledara/San Gabriele junction; please note that the continuation of the route via the SS80 is affected by the presence of several construction sites with possible inconvenience. For vehicles heading to L’Aquila/Rome, coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14, it is recommended to use the alternative route consisting of the southbound carriageway of the A14 freeway to be taken in the direction of Bari until joining the A25 freeway in the direction of Rome;
  • Sunday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the closure of the L’Aquila Est – Colledara/San Gabriele section, in the direction of Teramo, will be ordered. During the hours indicated, vehicles coming from AQ/A25/RM and heading towards Teramo will have to exit the A24 at the L’Aquila Est Junction, with the Assergi station interdicted to traffic; the continuation of the route via the SS80 in the direction of Teramo is affected by the presence of construction sites with possible inconvenience. Vehicles heading to Teramo/Giulianova from Rome are advised to take the A24 freeway as far as the Torano Junction, where they can continue on the A25 freeway and then on the A14 freeway, heading north to the Giulianova junction, to reach Teramo via the SS80 expressway.
