Imaginary construction sites: the heart of L’Aquila beats to the rhythm of music

After an exciting start, the summer festival I Cantieri dell’Immaginario enters its 15th edition with one of the most anticipated events of this 2025 edition. The city is transformed into an open-air stage with a festival that combines tradition and innovation and will run until August 7. From the heart of the historic center to the most picturesque hamlets, L’Aquila continues to vibrate with art, music and theater with the festival celebrating culture as an engine of urban and community rebirth.

An exciting journey of shows, concerts and performances that, after an exciting start, still has some unmissable events scheduled in the second half of July and early August that will be a culmination of excitement: for lovers of jazz and blues music active especially in the 1930s and 1940s on Friday, July 18 , there will be a Tribute to Billie Holiday, with Ada Montellanico Quartet at 7 p.m. at thePark Auditorium, while at the San Bernardino Steps there is a comedy show by Maurizio Battista at 9:30 p.m.

Among the most anticipated events are The Star of the Middle Ages on July 20 at the Teatro Stabile d’Abruzzo, and the “Desires for Beauty” concert on July 22 at the San Bernardino Steps; the program also includes Le Prove del Nove at the Monticchio CasermArcheologica Studio Theater on July 23, Artemis and Ramona, Two Chefs in the Kitchen at the Park Auditorium on July 24, and From Italy with Love with the Balletto Sud at the San Bernardino Steps on the same day.

Space is also given to classical music with Pierino e il Lupo and L’Histoire du Soldat on July 27 at the San Bernardino Steps, and innovative performances such as Racconti Istrani, Dismantati and Dalmati on July 30 at the Teatro Stabile d’Abruzzo.

The grand finale will feature the San Bernardino Steps with music by The Kolors on Aug. 2, Vasco Brondi on Aug. 5 and Massimo RanieriTutti i Sogni Ancora in Volo Tour on Aug. 7, the final night.
