Snow trains on the Trans-Siberian Railway of Italy restart in Abruzzo

A journey aboard historic locomotives through parks, protected areas, villages and trails. The Trans-Siberian Railway of Italy is definitely the most scenic railway in our country, and riding it is magical, in summer as well as in winter. As usual, there will be a rich offer of historical trains again this year during the Christmas Markets in the two locations reachable by the railway line: Campo di Giove and Roccaraso. Here the town is transformed into a real Christmas village, set up with wooden cottages and lights to create the right atmosphere.

The Trans-Siberian Railway will take you on a journey through time on the distinctive carriages of the 1920s and 1930s to discover the history of this more than century-old route and to reach the snow of Abruzzo. Starting with Roccaraso, Central Italy’s number one ski destination.

Two daily departures from Sulmona station are scheduled for every weekend of the month until December 22. From Dec. 26 through Jan. 6, however, there will also be departures on Thursdays, Fridays and holidays.

Ticket sales are open, and all information, programs, times, and costs can be found at www.ferroviadeiparchi.it
