Work in the Gran Sasso Tunnel: interlocutions to reduce inconvenience

As anticipated by the press, some news reports, and web articles, the Structure of the Extraordinary Commissioner for the Safety of the Gran Sasso Water System will have to carry out activities in both of the Gran Sasso’s arches and anticipates that it will be necessary to arrange for the alternate closure of both arches for a total of 45 days. Strada dei Parchi has made itself available to the Commissioner’s Structure in order to reduce the inconvenience to its Customers and has proposed to manage the transit of vehicles in the tunnels under an alternating one-way system, using traffic lights, a solution already used by the previous Commissioner between November 2005 and March 2006. However, the details and timetable for the execution of these activities are not known at the moment.

Strada dei Parchi hasan ongoing operational dialogue with the Commission Structure and the competent Authorities to plan and manage the new traffic regime in the Gran Sasso Tunnel as a result of the activities that are under the responsibility of the Commission Structure, in order to continue to guarantee at the highest possible level the continuity of a fundamental service that the A24 freeway ensures for the connections between two Regions and two Provinces of Abruzzo.

As soon as the schedule of activities is finalized, all information on dates and further details on traffic management will be promptly posted on the website and social channels of Strada dei Parchi. This information will also have maximum circulation in newspapers, television stations and local news websites.
