Since May 2017, more than 70 construction sites have been open on the A24 and A25 highways where, 900 workers and specialized technicians are engaged in securing viaduct decks.
The goal is to prevent the step on the road surface, which is very dangerous for travelers, from occurring in the event of an earthquake.
In order to work under viaducts, scaffolding has been set up at the base of the piers and suspended scaffolding anchored on the road surface, and highly specialized techniques and personnel are used to work suspended in a vacuum.
There are currently 10 scaffolds on the Pietrasecca viaduct, between Carsoli and Tagliacozzo on the A24, which reaches a height of 70 meters and is about 1.8 kilometers long.

There are 500 days planned for the work. The goal is to finish well ahead of schedule so as to reduce inconvenience to travelers.
