Mechanical Rescue on A24 and A25 Highways

Features of the Mechanical Rescue Service

Mechanical rescue on the A24 (Rome-Teramo) and A25 (Torano-Pescara) highways provides assistance in case of breakdown or accident. The service operates 24/7 and is regulated by official concessions to ensure efficiency and safety for users.

The intervention may include:

  • Transportation of the vehicle to a contracted garage or the one chosen by the user, paying in this case the excess kilometers.
  • On-site repairs for minor faults when possible.
  • Service and recovery for light and heavy vehicles.

Activation Times: Light and Heavy Vehicles

Intervention times vary according to the type of rescue to be performed (essential or standard public rescue), the type of vehicle to be rescued (light/heavy), and the time slot (daily/nightly).

  • Light vehicles (cars and motorcycles): the average waiting time is about 20-45 minutes from the call.
  • Heavy vehicles (trucks and buses): the average waiting time is about 30-70 minutes, depending on the availability of the specialized vehicles needed for recovery.

Type of Call: Named, General and Essential Public Relief

  • Named Call (insured): if the driver has insurance that covers roadside assistance, he or she can request the service through his or her operator who will contact the authorized agencies.
  • Generic call: those who do not have specific coverage should directly contact the authorized rescue service on the A24 and A25 routes, paying the standard costs stipulated in the agreement.
  • Essential public rescue: to ensure traffic safety, the Concessionaire has the authority to directly activate rescue in certain critical situations, without the need for a request from the driver. This occurs in the case of:
    • Broken down vehicles in dangerous places (tunnels, viaducts or narrow emergency lanes);
    • Accidents with risk to the safety of other users;
    • malfunctions that prevent autonomous vehicle movement in areas of heavy traffic.

    In such cases, relief will be provided by the nearest available operator, with standard rates stipulated in the agreement.

Emergency Numbers and Organizations Present

If needed, the following numbers can be contacted for assistance:

  • Traffic Police: 112 NUE Single Emergency Number
  • Emergency service numbers of dealerships contracted to provide mechanical rescue service:
    • ACI Global Roadside Assistance: 803.116
    • Europ Assistance – Go: 803.803
    • AXA Assistance: 800.111.911
    • IMA Assistance: 800.613.613

At the time of the call, the highway where the vehicle for which you are requesting emergency service is located, the direction of travel and mileage, the license plate of the car, the model, and, of course, the owner’s personal information should be given. At that point the same operator with whom you will be in telephone contact will activate the rescue and service procedure.

The fees charged for the service can be found from the links of the individual organizations:

It is recommended that you check with your operator about possible insurance coverage to reduce or cancel charges.
