Thursday, April 11 possible disruptions at A24 and A25 toll booths due to general strike

Highway Concessionaire Strada dei Parchi informs that the National Secretariats of FILT-CGIL and UIL Trasporti have announced the adherence of the “Circulation and Road and Highway Safety and ANAS” sector to the General Strike for Thursday, April 11, 2024 also for the workers of the Motorway and Tunnel Concessionaire Companies.

Therefore, inconveniences may occur at the toll booths of the A24 (Rome-L’Aquila-Teramo) and A25 (Torano-Pescara) highways during the time periods affected by the strike, from 02:00 to 06:00, 10:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 22:00.

The Concessionaire Company points out that the highway toll is due by law therefore service and operation of automatic payment systems will be guaranteed.

Electronic toll gates and those with automatic cash machines – where one can pay either with cash (machines give change) or with credit card, Bancomat, Postamat or Viacard – will be regularly open (green light). An important caveat: on the A24 and A25 highways, the use of Bancomat, Postamat or Viacard cards at toll booths does not involve any bank fees and you are not required to enter any personal code. Simply insert the card into the automatic cash machine, which will return it after a few seconds. The toll payment will be visible on the statement that the bank sends to its customer, without any additional charges.

We also inform you that during the strike, during the hours of the heaviest traffic, in order to ensure the conditions of safety in the travel of the highway sections, even those who do not have the Electronic Tolling apparatus will be able to pass on the “yellow gates” dedicated to automatic payment and, although in the absence of the toll collectors, even the gates with only manual payment can be opened to traffic (with green light). In such cases, car license plates will be photographed and, after a few weeks, vehicle owners will receive a payment slip in the mail, which, without any surcharge, can be paid within 15 days, after which penalties will be triggered.

It is important to keep the entry coupon that certifies the route taken and will be useful in case of any toll disputes. If you lose the coupon, you should follow the instructions on www.stradadeiparchi.it in the “SERVICES – Toll” section.
