Pursuant to a decision by the Special Commissioner for the Safety of the Gran Sasso Water System, starting at 10:00 p.m. on June 15, 16, 17, and 18 June, until 5:00 a.m. on the following days, the Assergi–Colledara/San Gabriele (Gran Sasso Tunnel) section of the highwaywill be closed to traffic in the direction of Teramo.
On the days and at the times listed above, vehicles coming from L’Aquila/A25/Rome and heading toward Teramo must exit the A24 at the Assergi Interchange. For long-distance travel and for heavy vehicles heading to Teramo/Giulianova, we recommend using the alternative route via the A25 Torano – Pescara, continuing on the A14 toward Ancona to the Giulianova/Teramo interchange, and then taking the SS80 highway to reach Teramo; alternatively, we recommend exiting the A24 at the L’Aquila Est Interchange, taking the SS17 and SS153 (Piana di Navelli) until reaching the Bussi junction, enter the A25 and follow it toward the A14 until the Giulianova junction to continue toward Teramo via the SS80 highway; another alternative route is as follows: exit the A24 highway at the L’Aquila Ovest interchange, take the SS80 toward the Valico delle Capannelle, continue along the SS150, and merge onto the A24 highway via the unmanned Basciano interchange. Please note that the SS80 toward the Valico delle Capannelle pass is affected by several construction sites, which may cause delays.
