Electric mobility infrastructure grows on the A24 and A25 highways: new charging points are active in the Civita Nord and Sud and Valle Aterno Ovest service areas
The A24 and A25 freeways, a strategic axis connecting the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic ridges, are strengthening their infrastructure dedicated to electric mobility with the activation of new charging points in service areas.
In fact, 20 fast and ultra fast charging points are operational in the Civita Sud and Civita Nord service areas, along the A24 near the Carsoli/Oricola exit, and Valle Aterno Ovest, near the main highway access to L’Aquila. An additional 8 charging points are also scheduled to be activated in the coming months in another Service Area on the A25 highway, expanding coverage along the entire corridor.
The intervention represents a further step in the modernization of travel services along one of the main infrastructure routes in Central Italy, used daily by commuters, commercial traffic and tourist flows between Lazio and Abruzzo.
The new installations already allow recharges of up to 100 kW per individual outlet. As the energy storage systems planned at the sites come on line, power will be able to reach up to 360 kW, allowing ultra-fast recharging and significantly reducing dwell times for motorists.
The upgrading of the recharging network is part of a broader vision of service development along the A24 and A25, infrastructures that cross a unique territorial context characterized by the presence of three National Parks and three Regional Natural Parks. In this scenario, the development of service areas and technological equipment contributes to making the highway corridor increasingly equipped to accompany the transition to forms of mobility with a lower environmental impact.
The expansion of charging infrastructure along the network is therefore an important piece in ensuring continuity of travel for electric vehicles and supporting the evolution of mobility along one of the most relevant highway links in Central Italy.
