On June 25, 2024, Strada dei Parchi will host an event dedicated to road safety at the Civita Sud Service Area on the A24 highway (between the Vicovaro/Mandela and Carsoli/Oricola exits, in the direction of the Abruzzo capitals), as part of the European “(S)he Works I Care” campaign. This initiative, promoted by ASECAP and AISCAT, is now in its third edition and aims to raise awareness of the importance of the safety of the operators who work daily on our highways.
From 9 a.m. until lunchtime, an information booth will be set up where a team of experts from Strada dei Parchi and the Toto Group Companies, who are engaged every day on the A24 and A25 highways, will meet with users and drivers. Information materials and reflective vests will be distributed, and basic rules and the most correct behaviors to be adopted on highways will be explained to safeguard the safety of everyone, starting with the operators.
The event “(S)he Works I Care. Safer Together” is aimed at all road users, especially truck drivers, and aims to increase understanding of the essential role of patrolmen and to promote more responsible behavior. Every day, in fact, men and women work, even at night, to ensure the safety and maintenance of highway infrastructure. Unfortunately, many of them are still victims of accidents, even fatalities, due to drivers’ inattention or failure to comply with traffic regulations. Their safety is critical to the safety of all highway users and the infrastructure itself.
The initiative aims to foster empathy and mutual understanding by allowing car drivers, truck drivers and patrolmen to put themselves in each other’s shoes. In 2024, the campaign involved 17 ASECAP member countries and hundreds of participants across Europe. The 2025 edition, with new countries and dealers joining, aims to further strengthen this momentum and broaden awareness on these crucial issues.
