After receiving its nomination as Capital of Culture, the City of L’Aquila is preparing for the big event by organizing again this year the summer festival most awaited by citizens and others: I Cantieri dell’immaginario. It has already kicked off and until Aug. 6 it includes a kaleidoscope of 34 events spread over 25 days of performances, all located between the San Bernardino steps and the Auditorium del Parco, in addition to two events planned in the locations of Campotosto and Villa Sant’Angelo, to pay homage along with the capital to other centers among the hardest hit by the 2009 earthquake. This is an occasion to celebrate the process of reconstruction of the Community and that every year responds with thousands of attendees.
The review, organized in collaboration with the Territory Cultural Institutions financed by the National Fund for Live Performing Arts (FNSV), sees the artistic direction once again bear the signature of maestro Leonardo De Amicis.
This will be the 13th edition of Cantieri dell’Immaginario and will speak straight to people’s hearts through one language, that of emotions. A unique program of events in which are included genres and artistic expressions that are only apparently different from each other: classical theater, reading, dance, music declined in multiple forms – classical, opera, jazz, pop – entertainment and ballet; all enclosed in one big bubble that contributes to the common sharing of beauty and talents brought to the stage thanks to the important collaboration, now established, with the territory and its cultural realities that have provided professionalism and expertise. Many nationally renowned names will animate the L’Aquila evenings dedicated to ‘Cantieri,’ including: Simone Cristicchi, Max Angioni, Francesco De Gregori, Il Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Edoardo Bennato, Antonella Ruggieri, Giusy Ferreri, Flavio Insinna, Cristiano De André, Mimmo Locasciulli, Gabriele Cirilli, Francesco Renga and Nek, Dargen d’Amico, Fabrizio Moro.
