Firestorm, Parks Road’s new ally against snow and ice

Firestorm, is a salt spreader vehicle, which produces a warm calcium chloride solution that can reduce ice thawing time on the road.

With traditional salt spreaders, in fact, the preparation of the solution takes place in special tanks and then, it is loaded onto tanks that, through nozzles attached to the vehicle, spread it on the snowpack. The heat thus produced inevitably dissipates because the solution is not used immediately.

Firestorm, allows the solution to be produced directly inside the tanker very quickly, enabling the liquid to be distributed on the road at a high temperature of over 50°C.

The machine consists of a fiberglass tank with a capacity of 11,700 liters. In addition to the conventional dispensing booms, a patented boom equipped with 45 special, straight-jet nozzles that deliver the solution at 7 bar pressure, creating a shear effect on the snow, is also used.
