A24: nighttime closures Gran Sasso Tunnel AQ/RM direction

The concessionaire Strada dei Parchi announces that, for maintenance needs, from 22:00 on March 4, 5, 6 and 7 to 06:00 on the following days, the Colledara/San Gabriele – Assergi (Gran Sasso Tunnel) freeway section will be closed to traffic, limited to the carriageway in the L’Aquila/Rome direction.

Vehicles coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14 and heading towards L’Aquila/Rome will have to exit the A24 via the Colledara/San Gabriele interchange. For long-distance traffic and heavy vehicles heading to L’Aquila/Rome coming from Teramo/Giulianova/A14, it is advisable to use the alternative route consisting of the southbound carriageway of the A14 freeway, to be driven in the direction of Bari until joining the westbound carriageway of the A25 and continue in the direction of Torano/Roma; alternatively, it is recommended to exit the A25 freeway via the Bussi/Popoli junction, drive along the SS153 and the SS17 (Piana di Navelli) until reaching the L’Aquila Est junction, enter the A24 and continue in the direction of L’Aquila Ovest/Roma; as a further alternative route, we point out the possibility of exiting the A24 freeway via the unmanned Basciano interchange, driving along the SS150 and the SS80 to the Capannelle Pass and re-entering the A24 freeway at the L’Aquila Ovest junction.
