Summer 2024: traffic forecasts until mid-August

“Viabilità Italia” has unveiled the summer departure calendar with heavy traffic bulletins planned for the coming weeks, corresponding to the usual seasonal exodus. For more details, it is suggested to consult Viabilità Italia – Centro Coordinamento Nazionale Viabilità

As every year, in anticipation of a significant increase in traffic volumes, it is recommended to consult the traffic news before setting out on the road and, of course, to give full concentration when driving, getting behind the wheel of an efficient and fully equipped vehicle, in optimal physical condition and well informed about road, traffic and weather conditions. In view of the high temperatures these days, it is advisable to travel while keeping an adequate supply of water on board.

For real-time information on traffic conditions on the A24 and A25 highways, simply log on to the Traffic Info page or follow the @viabilitasdp profile on the social network X. Up-to-date traffic news is available through the C.C.I.S.S. channels (toll-free number 1518, websites www.cciss.it and mobile.cciss.it, iCCISS app for iPHONE, CCISS Twitter channel), Isoradio broadcasts, Onda Verde news bulletins on the three Radio-Rai networks and on Televideo Rai.

THE SITUATION ON PARKS ROAD UNTIL MID-AUGUST

With regard to the A24 and A25 highways, the so-called “summer exodus” has peculiar characteristics related to the specificities of the territory crossed by the highways linking Lazio and Abruzzo. In particular, the section most affected by traffic flows will be the Lazio section of the A24 between the Carsoli and Tangenziale Est interchanges on the Urban Penetration Section. In particularly heavy traffic conditions, however, there could be slowdowns at immovable construction sites for earthquake safety work on the Tornimparte-L’Aquila Ovest section.

On the Carsoli – Roma Tangenziale Est section, yellow sticker days (heavy traffic) are forecast for all Saturdays in July, with peaks in the morning eastbound (toward Teramo / Pescara).

On the other hand, the days of very heavy traffic (red dot) will presumably be concentrated on Sundays in July, including westbound (toward Rome) with an extension to the entire weekend in the last days of July and early August, coinciding with the peak of office closures for the vacations. On these days of heavy traffic, in order to facilitate the flow of traffic, a stop has been imposed on heavy vehicles and trucks over 7.5 tons.

In any case, the Traffic Police reiterates the importance of and compliance with the rules of the Highway Code, in order to prevent accidents and traffic disruptions. In particular, before and during the journey, it is recommended to:

  • Do not use a cell phone while driving;
  • Keep seat belts fastened, both front and rear;
  • Use the appropriate child seats for children;
  • Observe speed limits, in each case to be adjusted to contingent road, traffic and weather conditions;
  • Maintain a safe distance;
  • Always occupy the clearest lane on the right;
  • Use caution when overtaking;
  • Always wear a protective helmet when riding or traveling on motorcycles and mopeds;
  • do not throw garbage and objects of any type and size out of the passenger compartment, especially cigarette butts: in addition to damaging the environment, they endanger other road users and are among the main causes of fires, especially in the summer months;
  • Do not engage the emergency lanes.

Attention is urged, particularly before setting off, to adopt prudent driving behaviors that are respectful of the rules of road behavior. In particular:

  • plan departures, avoiding the most critical hours and consulting traffic forecasts, including on the stradadeiparchi.it website and the X @viabilitasdp account;
  • Check the efficiency of the vehicle, especially tires and brakes;
  • Arrange luggage rationally by balancing weights and not overloading the car;
  • Identify a proper location for animal transport;
  • Avoid large meals and do not consume alcohol before and during the trip;
  • schedule stops so that you are always sufficiently rested while driving, and indulge in a stop at the first hint of fatigue, at Service and Parking Areas;
  • Keep abreast of traffic and weather conditions by listening to RTL 102.5 FM, Isoradio 103.3 FM, Onda Verde Rai, CCISS Viaggiare Informati news bulletins;
  • in case of need, contact the 112 Single Emergency Number.
