From July 1 to 15, the city of Chieti was transformed into an international stage with the eighth edition of Chieti Classica, the prestigious music festival directed by Maestro Giuliano Mazzoccante with the support of the Fondazione Banco di Napoli and Toto Holding, among the partners. An event that combines concerts, master classes, workshops and genre contamination, welcoming more than 100 young musicians from all over the world and internationally renowned teachers.
Not just classical, but a small mosaic of musical genres that make Chieti classica stand out for its multidisciplinary vocation, bringing music to some of the City’s most iconic venues. In fact, the Festival embraces a wide range of genres, from jazz to pop, from rock to film music.
There is also no shortage of workshops to allow younger children to learn about musical instruments with their families.
July 15, the final day of the festival, will be a true triumph of music. A closing concert is scheduled at the Cianfarani Auditorium, featuring the best masterclass students and some of the guest lecturers, including renowned cellists Marc Coppey and Alessandro Chaushian. Space will also be given to theater, with a special talk curated by director Massimo Di Michele, who led a theater workshop during the festival.
Also on the final evening, the Ukrainian Kiev Virtuosi Trio, known for its versatility and interpretative sophistication, will present “Movie Stories,” a musical journey through the most celebrated soundtracks of international cinema. The program includes original arrangements of songs from iconic films, performed with a classical sensibility and a contemporary touch. With a solid background and an international career, the Kiev Virtuosi Trio is part of the Kiev Virtuosi Orchestra ensemble, founded by conductor Dmitry Yablonsky, and is distinguished by its ability to blend impeccable technique and great expressiveness. Their performance will be the highlight of a festival that has brought artists from all over the world, master classes, workshops and genre contamination to Chieti.
This will be followed by a musical celebration in the square with the participation of the tribute band Terzacorsia, which will reinterpret the great Beatles hits in a classical-pop key.
July 15 represents not only the closing of a festival, but the celebration of an artistic journey that has crossed cultures, genres and generations. An unmissable opportunity to experience music in all its forms, in the heart of a city that confirms itself as a crossroads of talent and beauty. It will be the culmination of a musical journey that has crossed cultures and generations and transformed Chieti into a stage of talent and passion.
