Fires are one of the greatest dangers to highway traffic, and timely intervention is critical. The solution adopted by Strada dei Parchi leverages technology and the presence of emergency response teams on the route. On the A24 and A25, an important team, made up of personnel specialized in firefighting, has gone into operation. They have a fleet of new firefighting vehicles at their disposal, and are deployed near the longest tunnels. Their vehicles are agile and fast, technologically designed for the first intervention, that of containment.
They are special scooters with bazooka water shooters and pick-up trucks that among others have a tank of as much as 400 liters of water on board.
Each station has at its disposal 4 vehicles and two fire-fighting operators, highly specialized to deal with high-risk situations and first aid.
