L’Aquila broom, a unique species to be saved

Daniela Tinti is a botanist who for years has dedicated herself to studying the flora of our mountains and in particular a small and very rare flower found exclusively in a few areas of Abruzzo: the ginestra aquilana.

A few months ago, when a violent fire swept through the mountains of Arischia near L’Aquila, Daniela and other volunteers braved the flames to bring the last remaining specimens of ginestra aquilana to safety, ensuring their survival.

For videos of the fire, thanks to Antonio Piraino
