The new cars will be deployed on A24/A25 and will replace older vehicles. Investment by SDP of approximately 2 million euros
Strada dei Parchi, concessionaire of the A24/A25 highways, has delivered the first batch of new cars to the Traffic Police, these are the first 6 cars of a total of 24 Skoda Superb that will immediately enter service along the 300 km of the highway network connecting Rome with Abruzzo. The initiative is the result of an all-out collaboration between the Polstrada and SDP with the aim of maintaining high standards of highway traffic safety and prevention. It will take place thanks to the close and well-established coordination between Strada dei Parchi and the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior.
Present at the handover, which was held at the Polstrada subsection of Roma Est, were Director Filiberto Mastrapasqua, the Director of the Compartimento di Polizia Stradale for Lazio and Umbria, Dr. Teseo De Sanctis, the Director of the Compartimento Polizia Stradale Abruzzo and Molise, Dr. Andrea Mainardi, the President, Cesare Ramadori, and the CEO of Strada dei Parchi, Costantino Ivoi.
The commitment to provide, to the patrols on duty on the network, the fleet of vehicles and a series of technological tools is part of the agreement that the concessionaire has signed with the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior. It is necessary, in fact, to ensure maximum efficiency on the part of law enforcement agencies in controlling the artery, that vehicles are periodically replaced with new ones. A total of more than 3 million kilometers are driven annually by the vehicles engaged on A24/A25, and the total investment by Strada dei Parchi in this area amounts to about 2 million euros.
