On-the-Go Electrical Emergency Service Launches

Starting July 1, 2026, a new on-the-road electric vehicle assistance service will be available throughout the A24 and A25 highway networks, providing emergency charging on the highway to assist drivers of fully electric vehicles in the event that their battery runs out while traveling.

The service is the result of an intra-group collaboration between “strada dei parchi” and Renexia Recharge and is part of a broader initiative to progressively electrify the entire highway infrastructure, which calls for the gradual completion of the network of charging stations at all highway service areas.

Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every weekday and holiday, the emergency service covers all routes operated by SdP.

This service is designed for fully electric vehicles that are unable to continue driving becausetheir traction battery has run out of power . The mobile charging service restores an estimated range of approximately 50 km, which is sufficient to reach the nearest charging station or the user’s destination.

To request assistance, simply call the dedicated number 0641592460, where an operator will answer directly to handle your request and coordinate on-site assistance.
Alternatively, the service can also be activated via the SOS kiosks located along the route.

When making the call, the user must provide the essential information needed to determine the location (highway, kilometer marker, and direction) so that assistance can be provided promptly and effectively.

To ensure the safety of users and operators, charging is provided exclusively under appropriate conditions and in suitable locations, preferably at service areas or parking areas. If the vehicle is in an unsafe location, it will be towed to a suitable location by a tow truck, at the customer’s expense.

The emergency recharging service is free of charge, while any transportation costs incurred by emergency vehicles are the responsibility of the user.

With this initiative, “strada dei parchi” is taking another step toward mobility that is increasingly user-friendly and sustainable, complementing the development of charging infrastructure with innovative services designed to make electric travel safer and more reliable.
