A review dedicated to thoughts and written words that this summer marks its seventh edition: from August 6 to 18, Pescasseroli from being the capital of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park becomes a center for the dissemination of culture related to great books, and this high-profile event could not lack support as a sponsor from Toto Holding.
Several prestigious authors are going to take turns in Umberto I Square: starting on Wednesday 6 with Mario Tozzi and his essay “Technical Evidence of Extinction” in which the well-known face of science popularization reasons about the emergencies of the planet and the role of man. The moderation of the meeting is by journalist Eugenio Murrali, the dialogue with Tozzi by Dacia Maraini and Pnalm director Luciano Sammarone while the readings are by Elisabetta Tosoni.
Thursday, August 7, is the turn of Nadia Terranova and her latest novel “What I know about you.”. A Strega Prize finalist, with this work we enter the world of family memory and mental distress.Moderating the meeting is journalist Maria Rosaria La Morgia with readings by Barbara Amodio.
On Friday, August 8, Monica Maggioni presents her “The Presidents” to bring attention to current political events related to the power mechanisms of the American presidency.
On Monday, Aug. 11, music takes the stage in the Church of Sts. Peter and Paul with a concert by Pescasseroli’s Decima Sinfonia Chorale conducted by Maestro Anna Tranquilla Neri with the participation of thePopular Orchestra of the Park.
After the mid-August break, we start again on Sunday 17 with one of Italy’s most esteemed philologists, Giuseppe Antonelli, who presents his essay “The Wizard of Words”, a work that recounts the beauty and power of our language. The meeting will be moderated by journalist Domenico Ranieri and readings entrusted to Andrea Casanova Moroni.
Closing the review on Monday, August 18, comes Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia with “The Algorithm of Life. Ethics and Artificial Intelligence.” , an essay that highlights as much the advantages as the dangers associated with artificial intelligence and more generally with the link between technological development and an ethical dimension that allows us to trace a humane approach to new technologies. Dialogue with the author entrusted to Dacia Maraini and Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, president of CEI and archbishop of Bologna.
